A New Face in the Front Office at Falls High School

Casey Blochowiak was recently hired to take over as associate principal at MFHS.

Casey Blochowiak has been called, and the School District of Menomonee Falls is her answer.

The reading specialist and social studies teacher at Mukwonago High School will become an Associate Principal at Menomonee Falls High School, pending School Board approval Monday night.

“I’m so excited,” said Blochowiak. “The community has a very strong commitment to education and excellence. I just really want to be a part of that.”

Blochowiak was most recently reading department chair and RISE program coordinator at Mukwonago High School. She has served as Teaching and Learning Committee chair, secondary chair of the Reading Content Area Team, and has served as a member of the School Improvement Steering Committee, Universal Team (Response to Intervention Data Committee) and the Common Core Standards Committee.

The hiring team highlighted Blochowiak’s depth of understanding and experience in many of the initiatives Menomonee Falls is focusing on as a district, and her passion and commitment to serving and supporting students.

“We are thrilled to have Casey join the team.  She is a proven leader with a skill set that matches our needs perfectly. Her enthusiasm for education is contagious,” said High School Principal Corey Golla.

Blochowiak holds a master’s degree in education in reading from Concordia University Wisconsin and an administration degree, earning both with 4.0 grade-point averages. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history, and she earned her teaching certificate from Marquette’s educational and policy leadership program.

Blochowiak has spent seven years in education, the last six at Mukwonago. She won the district’s 7-12 Specialty Educator of the Year Award in 2010-11.

Education was an obvious career choice.

“I definitely feel a call to serve the community,” she said, “and I feel education is a way to open up possibilities for students and to create a wonderful life for their families.”

Becoming a principal was also a calling, she said. She enjoys working with the community, teachers and students.

“I think that’s the really unique quality of an administrator. You get to bring all those three groups together,” she said.

Blochowiak is excited to bring her skill set to Menomonee Falls.

“I think I bring a lot of energy and passion for education and continuous improvement,” she said, “and a focus on literacy and what we can do as a school to be successful in that aspect.”

Blochowiak is married and in her spare time she trains for marathons. She hopes to run in the Boston Marathon in the near future.
