Olive Garden and Buffalo Wild Wings May Open in the Fall

The Germantown Village Board approved the Riversbend development that includes two commercial restaurants on County Line Road, and a new clubhouse.

Permits and rezones for the Riversbend development, that includes a Buffalo Wild Wings and Olive Garden, on County Line Road were approved by the Germantown Village Board on Monday, reported Germantown NOW.

Plans call for adjacent to one another to be built on 3.5 acres in the parking lot of the current Riversbend Golf Club. The Riversbend clubhouse would be relocated to the north end of the property. The golf course will remain a 9-hole course.

Residents of the area, particularly from the Rivercrest subdivision, have expressed concerns about the noise that would come from Buffalo Wild Wings and increase in traffic on County Line Road.

The board approved an amendment to the land use map classification from "park/recreation area" to "commercial" classification and also included removing a 0.22-acre portion from the floodplain overlay district.

A conditional use permit for encroachment of a 25-foot setback on wetlands was also approved with 17 conditions, reported Germantown Now.

An addition of a traffic light on County Line Road is included in the development.

Sara Johnson, a representative from the project developer Continental 246 Fund, said the light would alleviate some of the traffic that goes through Rivercrest subdivision.

Germantown Village President Dean Wolter said the hours of operations on Buffalo Wild Wings outdoor patio could be addressed when the restaurant applies for a liquor license.

Construction could begin in spring, and both restaurants would open in fall of 2013.
