Wholesale Bakery Chooses Cudahy Over Menomonee Falls

The owner of Angelic Bakehouse said Menomonee Falls' lower property taxes were more than offset by high water costs.

Waukesha-based Angelic Bakehouse, a wholesale bakery, had considered a move to Menomonee Falls but instead is moving to Cudahy because of high water costs, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

A proposal to construct a 22,000-square-foot commercial bakery received the green light from the Falls Plan Commission back in February. Waukesha-based Angelic Bakehouse owns the bakery, and the new facility would have housed its administrative, bakery, warehousing, and shipping functions.

The bakery owner said that even though they would have had a lower property tax bill in Menomonee Falls, the water costs of $10,000 annually were still too high to offset the lower property tax, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
