What's Closed In The Menomonee Falls Area On MLK Day

We've compiled a list of closings in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.

All federal, and state offices as well as banks will be closed on Monday in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The holiday marks the birthday of the famed civil rights leader. King’s actual birthday is on Jan. 15, but the third Monday of January was designated as the official holiday in 1983.

The Village of Menomonee Falls and Waukesha County offices (with the exception of courts) will be open on Monday, but here's a list of what will be closed:

School District of Menomonee Falls schools, Division of Motor Vehicles and United States Post Offices will also be closed on Monday and mail will not be delivered.

I write off a special expense on these pointless holidays to make up for my tax burden that finances them.

How is it that we Have a MLK Day, weren't there any other great Americans, male or female. I can see Veteran's Day and perhaps President's Day but what about a Great Americans Day to replace an individuals day like MLK Day. Columbus Day is a stretch in my mind as well, an excuse for another federal holiday at best.

It's assumed a certain demographic wouldn't show up for work so might as well make it official for all.
