Romney Wins Soundly in Menomonee Falls

Although the rest of the state and nation elected President Barack Obama, Menomonee Falls voters chose Mitt Romney by a nearly two-to-one margin with 93 percent turnout at the polls.

President Barack Obama earned another four-year term as the leader of the United States, but it wasn't because of support for him in Menomonee Falls.

Nearly 93.6 percent of the 24,355 registered voters in Falls cast a vote Tuesday.

Voters in the village resoundingly voted for Mitt Romney by a nearly two-to-one margin. Romney collected 14,431 votes, or 63.3 percent of the vote. Obama earned 7,855 votes, or 34.4 percent. However, Romney couldn't carry the state or the country on Tuesday.

In 2008, John McCain fared a little worse than Romney in Falls. He took home 60.2 percent of the vote to Obama's 38.7 percent.

Tommy Thompson also fared well against Tammy Baldwin in the U.S. Senate race. Thompson earned 14,170 votes, or 62.2 percent. Baldwin earned 7,570 votes, or 33.2 percent.

Incumbent Rep. Dan Knodl (R-Germantown) coasted to a victory in the 24th Assembly race, as well. Knodl collected 58.4 percent of the vote in his district boundaries within Falls. His challenger, Shan Haqqi earned 27.8 percent. Throughout the entire 24th district, Knodl garnered 67 percent of the vote to Haqqi's 33 percent.

To no surprise, Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls) won another term by a two-to-one margin over Dave Heaster.

City of Pewaukee Alderwoman Kathleen Novack, 62, won 71 percent of the vote, or 155,430 votes, in Tuesday's county clerk race, beating Town of Lisbon business owner Jessie Read, 52, who collected 63,575 votes, or 29 percent of the vote. In Falls, Novack received 60.9 percent of the vote to Read's 27.1 percent.

Voting was smooth sailing in Menomonee Falls as most poll chiefs had few problems to report. They main issues were addressing overvotes at the machines, and processing a large number of absentee ballots.

All results are unofficial until canvassed. Here's a look at how the vote broke down ward by ward.

This is the first time in weeks that my phone hasn't rung this morning with a political message!

I'm not sure how the worst President in US History could have been elected in an electoral landslide. Especially when the states he won were mostly counties won by Mitt. Amazing how Barry won key counties. Anyone looked into fraud in those areas? Especially in Nevada where Harry Reid inexplicably wins over, and over again. Perhaps it's just the fact that half the voters are absolute uninformed morons. I think they're be quite regretful in 2016 when this nation is in ruins.

Ignorant fools elected a socialist democrat! Sin is in and God is dead!
Uncle D November 8, 2012 at 01:33 pm
When 2016 arrives Mike, they'll be blaming you and I and all conservatives for the crap that this administration left behind. There are so so many people that want free stuff. By 2016 they'll realize that the bill is in the mail. The Canadians are laughing their asses off at the health care mess that's coming.
John Wilson November 8, 2012 at 03:16 pm
Okay, now if we can only overturn the XXII Amendment we can have President Obama for at least 3 more terms!
Mike Knight November 8, 2012 at 07:37 pm
Since Obama has increasingly ignored the Constitution you may get your wish. I'm he'll use his dictatorial powers for the good of humankind. He is a man of peace after all because he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Forget all those pesky wars, and military actions. Nothing to see there. Forget the perverts at the TSA groping old women, and children as well. There's no police state forming. It's just your imagination.

He will be impeached over Benghazi before you can get your wish.
Mike Knight November 8, 2012 at 07:41 pm
Too bad this isn't a Panarchy. In such a case Romney would be President over all areas where he won, or actually anyone who voted for him. Really though the communities should have most of the power, and the laws while the Federal, and even State should just be there to protect freedoms. Those levels should not affect us at all. Then if someone doesn't like their government they can simply move to another town.

Key counties with institutions of higher learning where people a.) ten to vote democrat and b.) are better educated. But yeah, probably fraud though.
Chief Toby Keef November 10, 2012 at 07:22 pm
Right, maybe if the south would have won the civil war we wouldn't have Barry Obomicorn to deal with.

First of all, you don't pay taxes. Second, 90% of the proceeds go to huge corporations. Third, it isRead More very disingenuous for you to say that "80% of relief goes to President Obama's definition of middle-class taxpayers." In more appropriate words, that is a flat out LIE.
Craig June 16, 2013 at 09:58 pm
Yes I do pay taxes John. Got some bad weed again John, eh?

I agree with Nuitari (just this one time). I think I like the old version of the Patch MUCH better!
Craig June 10, 2013 at 02:18 pm
I agree too. But WISN likes to run the light version of news, only covering topics they feel weRead More should know about- or fits their agenda.
John Wilson June 14, 2013 at 01:43 pm
I think that the Patch is making a sincere effort to actually get into what Conservatives refer toRead More as “elite journalism.” What Conservatives mean by that is, people who read, write, present facts, and possess the ability to actually analyze written articles, and provide fact-based responses, rather than snarky, juvenile or scatological, religious dogma. Those of you still wearing your loin cloths since birth, and still living in your caves need not participate…
