Sensenbrenner Will Again Seek Re-election

U.S. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner on Wednesday announced that he is again a candidate for re-election to represent Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

U.S. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner on Wednesday announced that he is again a candidate for re-election to represent Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. 

Sensenbrenner has served in Congress since 1978, and has been re-elected each election since 1980. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Committee on Science and Technology and he also serves on the Committee on the Judiciary.  Sensenbrenner is also Chairman of the Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Subcommittee.

“Today, I am announcing that I am a candidate for re-election in 2012.  The 2012 election will be one of the most important America has ever faced,” Sensenbrenner said.  “As a result of the redistricting process that occurs every 10 years after the Census, I have an opportunity to represent areas I have in years past, as well as areas I have never represented.

“The critical issues before us today are directly affecting our quality of life.  I want to continue the battle to improve our economy, restore jobs and reduce government spending.  My strong record demonstrates my commitment to individual freedom and less government intrusion in our lives.  I stand ready to continue my representation of these core principles.”
