Major Renovations Planned for County Line Pick'n Save

A new Pick'n Save store will replace Fashion Bug, a vacant storefront, and Cost Cutters in the Crossroads Shopping Center. The rest of the strip mall will receive a facelift as well.

Menomonee Falls is fast becoming a premier destination for grocery shopping — at least in terms of overall choice. The village of just over 35,000 residents is home to a modern , Woodman’s and , and the walls of a new Walmart Neighborhood Market are rising fast.

But there’s still one more.

That last grocery store on the village’s list — the red in the Crossroads Shopping Center on County Line Road — is set to receive some major renovations pending necessary village approvals.

On May 23, building owners R-K Associates of Waukesha submitted plans to the village detailing the renovation project, which includes a new Pick' n Save grocery store. According to the plans, the entire strip mall that includes the Pick 'n Save as an anchor will be revamped.

However, Pick 'n Save will vacate its current space in the shopping center and move into a new 64,000-square-foot store, which will be constructed next door and replace , a vacant storefront, and Cost Cutters.

The 68,000-square-foot space left from the Pick 'n Save would then house two new retail tenants, which are unknown at this point.

The remaining retail spaces that will remain after the renovation, according to plans, include:

  • Springleaf Financial
  • Visionworks

A manager at Fashion Bug confirmed that they would vacate the Crossroads Shopping Center as a result of the project. She said the Fashion Bug corporate office hasn’t confirmed whether they will relocate somewhere else in Menomonee Falls. She said their lease on the building expires in January.

Director of Community Development Matt Carran said renovation plans for the Pick 'n Save have been considered by the building owners since opened in the Crossroads Shopping Center in 2008.

A spokeman for the project declined to comment until plans are reviewed by the Plan Commission.
