Falls Rotary Club Sponsoring Darling-Pasch Forum

Invitation only forum is one of the first public events where both candidates will appear together just six days before the election Aug. 3.

Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) and challenger Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay) will both attend an invitation only forum sponsored by the Menomonee Falls Rotary Club Wednesday August 3.

Pasch is challenging Darling for her 8th Senate District seat in a high-profile recall election that is set for Aug. 9.

Some have would appear together in a public forum at all before the election. Pasch campaign representatives were disappointed in Darling's reluctance with Pasch  to dicuss issues surrounding the election. However, Darling's campaign organizer assured voters Darling would attend a few forums before Aug. 9.

The forum will be held as part of The Rotary Club’s weekly meeting, which has been moved to the , N88W14750 Main St. in Menomonee Falls to accommodate a large audience. The meeting will begin with at 11:45 a.m. with a luncheon followed by the forum.

The forum will follow a Q & A format with an opportunity for each candidate to highlight her platform. The forum is expected last approximately one hour and will conclude by 1:30 pm.

“In the spirit of informing our membership regarding the important issues affecting the general welfare of the community and the nation, we are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to hear directly from Alberta and Sandy”, said Ann Nischke, Rotary Club president. “The issues are extremely important, and the interest in this election and forum is very high.”

The forum will be by invitation only and reservations are required. Rotarians will invite guests, and other Rotary Clubs from the area. The local Community Chamber and other service clubs will be invited as capacity allows – but limited to 250 attendees.
