DOT Hosting Information Session on Main Street Reconstruction

Formal presentation on the project will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Menomonee Falls Fire Department Station #3.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Southeast Region in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements for the rehabilitation of Main Street from US 41/45 to 124th  Street in Waukesha County.  The meeting is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 5 at , W140N7501 Lilly Road, Menomonee Falls.  A formal presentation is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

This is primarily a pavement rehabilitation project. The existing concrete pavement will be repaired and overlaid with asphaltic pavement. Median closures are proposed at two locations. A 10-foot wide asphaltic multi-purpose trail will also be constructed along WIS 100 between Fountain Boulevard and Old Orchard Road. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2012. WIS 100 will be open to through traffic during construction although lane reductions and temporary delays should be anticipated.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project.  Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display.  WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
