Absentee Voting Deadline is Friday

About 250 residents have cast in-person absentee ballots so far, and the deadline is Friday at 5 p.m.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a pivotal recall election coming up on Tuesday and it will be one of the rare times residents in Wisconsin get to vote in the heat of the summer months.

However, if you have big plans or will be out of town on Tuesday, there’s still a week left to cast an absentee ballot at Menomonee Falls .

Due to the , voters won’t be able to register on Aug. 8, the Monday before the election. Registering and in-person absentee voting ends Friday at 5 p.m. Voters can register at the polls on Election Day. Applications for absentee ballots through the mail must arrive at the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Thursday.

Village Clerk Janice Moyer said - as of Friday afternoon - about 250 Falls residents had voted in the first week open to absentee voting. Moyer said a total of 813 ballots have been sent out in the mail to voters confined to their households. In all, about 570 ballots have been returned through the mail and absentee voting.

So far, Moyer said absentee voting traffic at her office has been similar to the state Supreme Court election in April.

“These elections have all been different this year, but so far absentee voting has been pretty similar to the April election – about 50 people each day,” Moyer said.
