A Closer Look at the Fond Du Lac Avenue Path

The Village Board on Monday gave its stamp of approval to a new multi-use, pavement path along Fond Du Lac Avenue.

The village will utilize roughly $467,000 in funds from a taxing district including Arrandall and Actuant. The village decided to go with a path that would remain in the right-of-way and connect with the Fond du Lac Avenue roadway at certain points. The combination plan was the most cost effective, and addressed some primary concerns from residents.

Most residents wanted the path as far from their properties as possible. The approved plan keeps the path in the right-of-way as long as possible, and connections with Fond Du Lac Avenue at several points.

The village is installing the path in response to neighborhood concerns about safety, which were brought to the village's attention year's ago. The path is hoped to improve safety for people who walk or bike along Fond Du Lac Avenue.
