You Can't Take It With You, Because That's Stealing

The old "we brought it in the store" excuse did not help three men who were nabbed following a pair of retail thefts last week.

It started at Target, according to a police report, when two suspects walked out of the store at 2:17 p.m. on July 16 with two 24-inch Vizio TVs worth $360

Fourteen minutes later, an employee at JC Penney watched two men leaving the store with a tan duffle bag stuffed with clothes; store tags were visible on the clothes.

When an employee asked the men if they needed to check out, one said "we brought it in the store," and then they left without paying.

Employees were able to describe their vehicle, and a Menomonee Falls officer stopped them and arrested three men. There were $603 worth of clothes in the bag.
