Woodman's Employee Assaulted by Shoplifters

A Woodman’s employee was assaulted Tuesday after he attempted to stop a group of shoplifters leaving the store.

At roughly 7:30 p.m., two men and a woman entered the store and stole Red Bull energy drinks and soda. The situation became violent when the employee, a 58-year-old Milwaukee man, attempted to stop the woman for theft.

The employee said the two men started punching him several times, and then fled in a tan motor home. They drove south along 124th Street. Police are gathering surveillance video from the incident, and also photographed the employee’s injuries.
