Woman Found Guilty in Odorous Home Burglary

Suspects parents could smell something foul when they came home and found they had been burglarized by their granddaughter.

A 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was found guilty in a home burglary that reeked of wrongdoing.

Brianna Anderson was sentenced to two years confinement and two years extended supervision for burglarizing her grandparents' home on Joper Road in May 2012. Her sentence is to be served at the same time as the 3-year sentence she is currently serving for misappropriating identification information in 2011 to take money.

In May 2012, her grandparents called police after they came home and smelled something fishy - or what they described as "dirty people," according to the criminal complaint. They noticed car keys and a phone charger were stolen, and someone had showered in their bathroom and left hair in the drain.

The couple said they suspected their granddaughter in the break-in, saying Anderson is a heroin addict and is homeless with her boyfriend.
