Woman Charged After Stealing From Home, Abandoning Victim at Casino

Milwaukee woman burglarizes a man who she meets in heroin addiction program, then steals his car by leaving him at Potawatomi Casino.

A 29-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole items from a Menomonee Falls family then left one of the victims alone at Potawatomi Casino so she could take his car.

Jessica Ramos was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of burglary and two counts of felony bail jumping. If convicted, she faces up to 24 ½ years in prison and $45,000 in fines.

On Dec. 22, Ramos and one of the victims were finishing up a drug rehabilitation program when they decided to drive around and find some heroin. They got high and went back to the victim’s house in the N4900 block of Greenview Avenue.

The victim’s parents weren’t home at the time, but Ramos kept asking for a tour of the home and to see his parent’s bedroom. He saw no harm in the questions because he was high.

Later on he found Ramos inside his parent’s bathroom and when he asked what she was doing, she said she was trying on his mother’s makeup. She also stayed inside of the house when he went outside to have a cigarette.

They left the house again and returned around 11 p.m. and were watching television, when Ramos then got up and began to rifle through drawers. The man again only briefly question the actions because he was still high on heroin.

Around 4 a.m. his parents were woken up when they heard Ramos going through their son’s drawers in his room. They told her to leave, so she and the son left and went to Potawatomi.

Ramos kept the keys when they were there and the victim eventually lost her inside the casino. He went back outside to the car and found it was gone. He waited there until 8 a.m. and she still hadn’t returned.

His parents found jewelry and money were missing from the house when Ramos left and contacted police.

Ramos was pulled over by Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies a day later and inside the car they found more stolen items including 40 collectable stamps. She also had duffle bags full of junk in the trunk and unused syringes inside the car.

Ramos pawned the jewelry items in Milwaukee.

She’s currently out of custody and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
