Woman Busted for OWI With Child in Front Seat

A Whitefish Bay woman was allegedly driving drunk at 80 miles per hour while traveling southbound on Highway 41/45 in Menomonee Falls.

A 29-year-old Whitefish Bay woman is facing charges after she was allegedly pulled over in Menomonee Falls doing 80 miles per hour while drunk with a 10-year-old girl in the car.

Brooke S. Sypudt was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of operating while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle and one count of operating with prohibited alcohol concentration with a minor in a vehicle. If convicted, she faces up to one year in prison and $2,200 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Sypudt was pulled over while travelling southbound on Highway 41/45 Saturday after a Menomonee Falls police officer saw her doing 80 in a 65 miles per hour speed zone. Upon reaching her vehicle, the complaint states the officer noticed the smell of intoxicants coming from the car and Sypudt’s speech was slurred.

She told officers she had been to a party and had two glasses of wine. Sypudt failed field sobriety tests and a blood alcohol level of 0.127 at the time of her arrest.

Sypudt was assigned a $1,000 signature bond Tuesday while awaiting trial.
