WISN: Woman Attacked on Bike Trail Says She Expected to Die

In an exclusive interview with WISN 12 News, a Menomonee Falls woman attacked in a Richfield park while walking her dog talks about the harrowing experience.

A Menomonee Falls woman who fought back against a knife-wielding stranger in a Richfield park says he believed she was going to die in the incident.

"I'm just thinking in my head like, 'This is how I'm going to die,'" Melissa Richards told Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News.

Richards said she took her dog Remy for a walk in a Washington County park and ended up wrestling with a stranger armed with a knife.

"Where he had it, he could have gotten me anywhere. He could have stabbed me right away, and I could have been down," Richards said
