WISN: Charges Filed Against Teen in Richfield Assault

Daniel Bartlet allegedly attacked a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman simply to "scare" her.

There are countless ways under the sun to give someone a good scare, but attacking someone with a knife is typically not one of them.

Daniel Bartelt, 19, of Hubertus, is charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor after he admitted to attacking a woman with a knife on July 12 in a Richfield park, according to Patch partners WISN. Bartlet told police he just wanted to "scare" a 20-year-old Menomonee Falls woman walking her dog, JSOnline reports.  Bartelt told police he was in the park reading and drinking a beer.

Bartelt is being held in jail on $150,000 bail, and has a hearing set for Sept. 4.

The incident occurred at roughly 11 a.m. July 12 while the woman was walking her dog in the park. Bartelt allegedly tackled the woman, and she struggled to seize the knife from him. She was cut on her hands and received stitches.

Washington County Sheriffs arrested Bartelt July 17 after they identified him through department records, which showed his vehicle being checked by a deputy in the park on July 1.
