Vehicle Is Easy Pickings in Home Burglary

A Menomonee Falls woman’s vehicle was easy pickings for a thief who stole her car in the night.

Sometime between May 16 and May 17, a 46-year-old woman reported her car had been stolen from her garage on the W16000 block of Maple Crest Lane. She told police that the vehicle was unlocked, and the ignition key was left in the vehicle. She was unsure if the garage door was left open during the night.

The thief also stole a company laptop that was in the vehicle. Although police don’t have a suspect or suspects currently, they did find a cell phone in the woman’s driveway. However, the phone was also stolen from a resident along Maple Crest Lane. She said the phone and her credit cards were taken from her vehicle that was parked in her driveway along the same block.
