Thieves Nab $500 Worth of Newport Cigarettes

Several thefts from vehicles, a dog biting, and a cigarette theft appeared in the Menomonee Falls Police Department reports over the past week.

At 10:29 p.m. Nov. 14, two men entered Woodman’s and stole eight cartons of Newport 100 cigarettes. The cartons of cigarettes were worth a combined $535.92. The two men left the scene in a maroon Ford Taurus.

Also in the reports:

  • Between 4:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. a person broke into woman’s vehicle that was parked outside United Fitness Center on Appleton Avenue. The thief stole the woman’s purse, and pried open the driver side window to gain entry.
  • Between 4:50 p.m. and 9 p.m. Nov. 14, a person smashed the passenger’s side window of a vehicle parked on the W16000 block of Main Street. The thief stole the victim’s purse and GPS unit. Police believe this theft could be linked to the incident that occurred at United Fitness Center.
  • A 22-year-old Bay View man was arrested for drunken driving at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 13 near Menomonee Avenue and Main Street. The man had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22, and he was cited for his second offense OWI.
  • Between Oct. 26 and Nov. 12, a person’s car was repeatedly keyed while parked at the Arboretum. The victim believes the suspect is a co-worker with whom she’s had problems.
  • Police responded to a dog-versus-dog biting incident that occurred on Nov. 14 on Mesa Drive. The owner of one of the dogs was also bitten during the altercation. Both dogs were up to speed on their vaccinations.
  • Between 4:45 p.m. Nov. 7 and 1 p.m. Nov. 11, a person broke into a vehicle parked at the Villa Vista Condominiums and stole the vehicle owner’s manual, a tire gauge, and miscellaneous paperwork.
