Teen Faces Charges After Attempting to Stab Her Grandfather

The girl became belligerent and slashed at her grandfather with a scissors after he confronted her about having alcohol in her room.

A Menomonee Falls teenager is facing charges after she allegedly tried to stab her grandfather with scissors after he confronted her about having alcohol in her room.

The 17-year-old girl was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of negligent handling of a weapon and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, she could face up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.

The girl and her 21-year-old boyfriend were hanging out in her bedroom in her grandparent’s home in the N4800 block of Lannon Road when she asked if he could stay the night, but they said no. Her boyfriend’s mother then came and picked him up and the girl came back in the house where she was confronted about a bottle of gin and a wine cooler found in her room.

The girl became belligerent and began to slash at a screen in her bedroom with a scissors. She then turned and began to slash at her grandfather with the scissors after he went to see what she was doing.

Ward had a blood alcohol level of 0.10 at the time of the incident. She’s free on a $1,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
