Student Cut With Knife During Fight at Falls High School

One student was treated for a minor cut after an altercation at the school between two students Wednesday, which is currently under investigation by local police.

An altercation between two students at Menomonee Falls High School Wednesday ended with a student receiving treatment for a minor cut with a knife. 

The Menomonee Falls Police Department is currently investigating an altercation that occurred at the high school Wednesday which involved a knife. Capt. Mark Waters of the MFPD said they are currently investigating the incident and should have more information Thursday. 

Administrators locked down the school as a result of the incident. Superintendent Patricia Greco issued the following statement Wednesday in response:

"In our priority to keep you informed, we are sending this message to let you know of an incident at the high school today.

Two students who knew each other had a verbal altercation that led to an incident with a knife. One student had a minor cut to his hand and was treated by the school nurse.

Staff and police responded immediately. The school was placed in lockdown immediately. There were no other compromises to student safety.

Counselors have been made specifically available for students who may have witnessed the situation. As always, counselors are always available to support all students.

This is a legal matter and the district is working with police. Though discipline records are confidential, consequences will be swift and severe.
