Two students who knew each other had a verbal altercation that led to an incident with a knife. One student had a minor cut to his hand and was treated by the school nurse.
Staff and police responded immediately. The school was placed in lockdown immediately. There were no other compromises to student safety.
Counselors have been made specifically available for students who may have witnessed the situation. As always, counselors are always available to support all students.
This is a legal matter and the district is working with police. Though discipline records are confidential, consequences will be swift and severe.
