Police Warn of Driveway Paving Scam

The suspects ask for money up front, but never complete the work.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department has issued a warning to residents about a driveway paving scam.

Police say subjects are soliciting work as driveway sealers in the community. They require payment up front, but simply take your money and do not complete the work.

It isn’t the first time a driveway sealing scam has filtered through the village. In September 2012, Romanian men were using watered down product and “seal coating” driveways for $175, which was agreed on through verbal contract.

One of the “employees” had three outstanding warrants with the Butler Police Department. The “owner” of the business admitted to going door-to-door and providing substandard asphalt sealing services without the proper permits.
