Police Report: A Lot of Drunks

Law enforcement activity largely involves alcohol and drugs.

Police had their hands full the past week — with drunks.

The police blotter didn't contain much else, really. However, people in Menomonee Falls got in trouble for their imbibing — and illegal drug use.

In the most dramatic example, a man was arrested for driving drunk with his wife and two children in his van.

The incident occurred June 24 at 12:08 a.m. along Daylily Drive. The man was caught when he drove the Toyota van onto the lawn of a residence nearby. He was arrested for drunk driving. His wife was arrested for obstructing an officer by giving them false information.

Another man was stopped for OWI on June 26 at 12:32 a.m. along Mill Road. Police found a drug pipe hidden in his console. He had a .139 blood-alcohol content, according to the police report.

On June 24 at 1:51 a.m., police stopped another possibly intoxicated driver at Pilgrim Road and Silver Spring Drive. They arrested him for second-offense OWI and felony drug possession after finding three Oxycontin pills in the mans underwear. The man is from the Falls.

Other hijinks included:

  • Someone smashed the window to the basement door at Hiawatha School building, W16579 Menomonee Ave., and entered the building without consent. They didn't take anything but did smash coffee cups and expell fire extinguisher materials onto the floor. Police could tell two people were involved because they left footwear impressions in the fire suppressant on the floor. The incident occurred June 22.
  • A man went over to an address along Mill Street looking for a fight and ended up punching two other men. The incident occurred June 26. Police responded to the fight in progress, but the man fled, and there is now a warrant out for his arrest.
  • Police are investigating a report that a temporary worker from Glendale stole copper and bronze connector parts worth $535 from Trinetics. The man was seen looking in a box with copper connectors. It was discovered to be empty after he left work that day.
