Police Beat: Officers Give Goose The Coup de Grace

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports.

In an apparent hunting accident, an officer with the used deadly force - on a goose that is. 

At 1:11 p.m. Friday, officers discovered an injured goose at the Pilgrim Glen condominiums at the corner of Pilgrim Road and Pilgrim Glen Way. The goose had an arrow through its body and a broken right wing. Due to the extent of injuries, police killed the goose and took the arrow into inventory.

It is unclear how long the goose battled the injuries, and there are no suspects or witnesses at this time. An officer completed a "Use of Force" report after dispatching the goose.

  • At 10 a.m. Saturday, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for simple assault on the 13800 block of Bonnie Lane. The man battered his 20-year-old girlfriend and damaged her vehicle with a claw hammer. The woman sustained a laceration and had pain in her right arm from the fight. She was transported to for treatment of her injuries.
  • A person stole the trailer hitch off a vehicle owned by a 57-year-old Menomonee Falls woman between noon Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was parked behind the woman’s apartment on Church Street.
  • At 3:55 p.m. Friday, a person driving a green Oldsmobile stole $33 of gasoline from Falls BP Amoco, N71W13161 Appleton Ave.
  • A 35-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage to property after going on a destructive spree in his parents’ home on the 17000 block of Wilson Drive. The incident occurred at 5:06 p.m. Friday. The man was throwing glass cups and smashed a window at the house. Upon arrival, officers found a marijuana pipe in the man’s possession.
  • At approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, a female suspect stole a 79-year-old woman’s purse from , N81W15182 Appleton Ave. A resident found the purse 10 minutes later on the west side of Tamarack Trail. The suspect stole $160 in cash, three lottery tickets and a credit card from the purse.
  • A suspect driving a Chrysler minivan was arrested for stealing $45.15 in gasoline from Speedway, N87W17245 Main St. The incident occurred at 2:47 p.m. Thursday.
