Police Beat: Mentally Ill Woman Puts Herself in Dangerous Situation

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls Police reports.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department assisted a mentally ill woman who had put herself into a dangerous situation on Aug. 31.

Police found a 21-year-old woman clad in only an undersized T-shirt and a straw hat walking in and out of traffic near the W13000 block of Fond Du Lac Avenue. The woman appeared to be disoriented and was speaking gibberish to officers who were on the scene.

The woman’s mother was contacted, and confirmed that her daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. Due to concerns for her safety and well-being, officers transported her to Community Memorial Hospital for medical clearance.

  • The MFPD assisted members of the Butler Police Department at 9:21 p.m. Aug. 30 at , in arresting a 24-year-old Waukesha woman who was a suspect in a prior burglary. An officer searched the woman’s vehicle and found several pieces of jewelry that were possibly taken in the burglary.
  • Between 9 p.m. Aug. 30 and 7 a.m. Aug. 31, a suspect pried away the front bumper of a 2007 Lexus LS460 and stole the headlamp assembly. The vehicle was for sale and parked in the southeast corner of along Main Street in Menomonee Falls. The total damage done to the vehicle is $5,000.
  • At 6:43 p.m. Aug. 31, a white male riding a sport bike stole $15.94 worth of gasoline from , N71W13161 Appleton Ave.
  • At 8:11 p.m. Aug. 28, a male and female suspect left , N95W17707 Shady Ln., with four Nintendo 3DS video game systems valued at $679.96 without paying. They left the scene in a red 1995 Ford Windstar occupied by two other male suspects.
  • Between July 27 and Aug. 31, a suspect removed a number of items from a 56-year-old Menomonee Falls man’s trailer. The theft occurred along the W13000 block of Carmen Avenue.
  • A 74-year-old man was found dead in his apartment at 10:53 a.m. Sept. 1 on the N8000 block of Steven Mack Drive. The apartment manager reported that the man was discovered not breathing.
