Police Beat: Four More Incidents Involving Village Vandalism

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police blotter.

Vandalism continues to be a recurring incident appearing in the Menomonee Falls police reports.

As of Monday, there were four recent incidents involving some form of vandalism to property throughout the village. These most recent incidents come on the heels of the to hit the Menomonee Falls Little League Complex in its history.

Between 9:15 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, a suspect smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked along the east side of , W156N5575 Pilgrim Road. The suspect threw a ratchet through the window causing $500 in damage. Fingerprints were lifted from the ratchet.

At 8:09 a.m. Wednesday, an officer discovered that someone had pushed over a yield sign at the corner of Bradley Circle and Longwood Street. Roughly $100 in damage was caused to the sign, but neighbors were could not provide any information regarding the incident.

Between 6 p.m. Aug. 15 and 8 a.m. Aug. 16, a 58-year-old man’s vehicle was vandalized on the N4000 block of Dolphin Drive. The suspect stole an antenna, poured an unknown powder onto the vehicle and drew obscene pictures on it.

At 9:54 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a person attempted to burn or pry open the lock on a soda machine in . The suspect caused an estimated $400 in damage to the machine.

Also in the reports:

  • At 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, a 52-year-old woman called police to report that her son was threatening her with a knife on the N6000 block of Hummingbird Way. The woman told police an argument erupted between them, and her son grabbed a kitchen knife and brandished toward her in a slicing motion. Her son was transported to a mental health clinic where her son was already receiving treatment for mental health issues.
  • At 11:26 p.m. Aug. 15, officers were called for suspicious activity in the rear parking lot of Venture Plaza at Pilgrim Road and Apple Valley Drive. A white male wearing black clothing was seen riding a women’s bicycle after hours. The subject was not identified, but he abandoned the bicycle in the rear of the building.
  • A homeowner living along the W17000 block of Good Hope Road received a citation Aug. 15 for his dogs’ excessive barking. A neighbor told police that the man’s dogs had been barking outside his home since 7 p.m. – police arrived on the scene at 10:40 p.m. One dog could be heard barking in the house, and another was chained to a tree outside barking as well. Neighbors near the man’s home said this has been an ongoing problem.
  • A 50-year-old man was found unresponsive in his home at 7:28 a.m. Aug. 15 on the W16000 block of Menomonee Ave. The man was taken to where he was pronounced dead. A family member witnessed him go into an unresponsive state, and told police the man had a history of medical conditions and alcoholism.
