Police Beat: Drunk Man Gets Knocked Out Cold - Literally

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports.

After a night of drinking Thursday, one 44-year-old man was literally knocked out cold.

At 5:17 a.m. Thursday, a motorist called police to report a man lying in snow at by the bathrooms. When police spoke to the man, he said he had a little too much to drink and also fell and bumped his head.

According to the report, the man did smell of alcohol and appeared to still be drunk. He also had two large bloody bumps on his head. Police requested an ambulance to transport him to for the bumps and exposure to the cold.

At 10:06 a.m. later that morning, CMH advised police that the man couldn’t be located. Hospital staff believed he left with his sister after they allowed him to step out for a smoke break.

  • At 11:30 a.m. Monday, police stopped a 30-year-old female driver on the corner of Main Street and Fond Du Lac Avenue for suspended driving status. Police discovered she had three valid warrants with the MFPD, and officers also found burnt marijuana and a stem in the ashtray. A further search revealed she also had a blunt inside a cigarette box on the front floorboard. She was arrested for marijuana possession.
  • Two women, ages 17 and 18, were cited for retail theft at 6:35 p.m. Saturday after they were detained by loss prevention at the department store at N95W18000 Appleton Ave. The girls attempted to leave the store without paying for $533.44 worth of merchandise. Both were cited and released from the scene.
  • While conducting routine checks, police found an open front door at 1:10 a.m. Friday at Team Knockout Gym, N56W13400 Silver Spring Rd. Officers found two men sleeping inside the business, but both men said they were acting as security guards for the owner. Police verified they were indeed security guards, and they were left at the business.
  • At 2:03 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a retail theft in progress at , N95W18373 County Line Rd. Officers located the suspect vehicle, and arrested both men that were involved.
  • Between 12:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, an unknown person took keys that were dropped at the and stole a purse from the vehicle that matched the keys. Two suspicious suspects were identified by passers-bay in the parking, and police are conducting a follow-up.
