Police Beat: Drunk Man Falls and Injures Head While Mixing a Drink

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls Police Department crime log.

Sometimes it takes a smack to the head to let someone know they've had too much to drink, and that's just what this Menomonee Falls man got last week.

A 56-year-old man was mixing a himself an drink at 9:50 a.m. July 11 in his home on the W15000 block of Northway Drive when he took a tumble, cutting his head on the shattered glass from the cup.

Police arrived after they were called regarding his head injury, and asked the man to give a preliminary breath test. According to police, the man's blood alcohol level was 0.32 at the time of the incident.

The man's fall was not something out of the ordinary. Officers observed several fresh and old injuries on the man from past alcohol-related falls. He was taken to Community Memorial Hospital for treatment.

  • A 32-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for his third offense OWI after he was pulled over by officers at 2:50 a.m. Sunday near Manor Hills Boulevard and Bay Ridge Lane. An officer in an unmarked squad heard loud music coming from his vehicle and made the stop.
  • A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana and second offense OWI after police stopped him for speeding at 6:59 p.m. Saturday in the 12400 block of Westwood Crossing. Police could smell marijuana in the vehicle, and found a bag containing marijuana as well.
  • A 20-year-old man was not happy with the condition of a vehicle he bought from a 27-year-old Menomonee Falls man. The 20-year-old will be cited for disorderly conduct after he threatened to shoot the Falls man’s house up at 11:11 a.m. July 12.
  • At 9:43 p.m. July 13, an unknown black male suspect stole $72 in gasoline from BP Falls Amoco at N71W13161 Appleton Ave. Earlier in the day, at 11:12 a.m., an unknown black female suspect pumped $85 worth of gasoline and drove off without paying from the same gas station.
  • Three subjects were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer discovered a vehicle in Oakwood Park after hours. The officer could smell marijuana emanating from the vehicle at 11:27 p.m. July 14.
