Police Beat: A Stray Peacock and a Man in the Median

Incidents from the Menomonee Falls police reports. A suicidal man also drove into a squad car last week.

A stray peacock ruffled a few feathers at a home on the W18000 block of Silver Spring Drive Thursday.

At 9:30 a.m., a 23-year-old woman called the Menomonee Falls Police Department to report their neighbor’s peacock was on the loose in their yard. The woman feared for the safety of her children, and also worried that the peacock could cause a traffic accident if it wandered into the road.

A police aide attempted to catch the misplaced bird, but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, the peacock decided to return to its property voluntarily. Throughout the fray, the owners of the peacock were not home.
