Police Catch Notorious Falls Graffiti Artist in the Act

A 24-year-old Germantown man was caught in the act Thursday and will face charges in the Waukesha County Circuit Court for vandalism.

A vandal who has made the Main Street bridge downtown his personal canvas will have a mug shot to add to his “portfolio”.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department arrested a 24-year-old, white Germantown male who was responsible for several acts of vandalism over the past few weeks at the bridge. The man was the "artist" behind some of that appeared under the bridge in August.

At 5:40 p.m. Thursday, a resident called police to report a subject underneath the bridge who appeared to be spray painting the wall. Police arrived and caught the man in the act and arrested him.

In an interview with police, the man admitted to committing three separate acts of vandalism under the bridge. Falls Police Capt. Mark Waters said the man will be charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with state counts of vandalism. Waters said police want the man to pay the costs for removal of the graffiti as part of his punishment.

Police are still completing their investigation and compiling costs.
