The victim contacted police in July after Kaatz stole her camera, four credit cards and used her debit card from her residence in the W15900 block of Cleveland Avenue. He then took the debit card and made two $100 withdrawals from her bank account.
Kaatz admitted taking the debit card and getting the cash, but told police he felt it was reasonable because the victim owed him money. He denied taking the credit cards, but the victim later discovered the camera was at Kaatz’s sister’s house.
