More Than 50 Marijuana Plants Found in Falls Home

Suspect appeared to be growing multiple strains of marijuana inside a home in the W13700 block of Crestwood Drive.

A 20-year-old Menomonee Falls man is facing felony charges after police discovered he was growing more than 50 marijuana plants in his house.

Luis M. Suarez was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of manufacture and delivery of THC--the active ingredient in marijuana—one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 16 years in prison and $35,500 in fines.

Police raided Suarez’s home Saturday in the W13700 block of Crestwood Drive where they found supplies for growing and smoking marijuana. In one room police found 48 starter marijuana plants, while another area contained six plants at least six inches tall, while another area contained four mature plants at least four feet tall.

Police also discovered multiple jars of different strains of marijuana, which Suarez was attempting to grow plants from.

Suarez is free from Waukesha County Jail on a $20,000 signature bond and $1,000 cash bond while awaiting trial.
