Friday Morning Car Accident Shuts Down A Portion of Mill Road

The Menomonee Falls Police Department expects the road to open back up by Friday afternoon.

A two-car accident that occurred Friday morning has shutdown Mill Road between Lannon and Town Line Roads in Menomonee Falls.

According to a news release from Menomonee Falls Police Chief Ann Ruzinksi:

A 23-year-old Menomonee Falls resident was driving her vehicle westbound on Mill Road and stopped for the stop sign located at Lannon Road. As she proceeded to turn left to continue southbound on Lannon Road, she struck another vehicle traveling southbound on Lannon Road. The vehicle struck had the right of way and was driven be a 50-year-old Lannon woman.

Both vehicles came to rest in a field on the southwest corner of the intersection, but not before one of the vehicles knocked down a utility pole. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital and are expected to be released.

We Energies was called to the scene and determined there was no damage to any utilities in the area except phone lines. Currently, Mill Road between Lannon and Town Line Roads is closed so large equipment can be brought in to place a new utility pole. The Menomonee Falls Police Department is unaware of any citizens being out of service at this time. All roads are expected to be fully operational by Friday afternoon.

The driver of the striking vehicle was cited for Failing to Yield the Right of Way when making the left turn, and Operating with an Expired License.
