MFHS Student Hospitalized After Morning Bus Accident

The accident occurred on Good Hope Road when a car rear-ended a school bus stopping for a yellow light.

A school bus this morning was involved in a minor accident that sent one student to the hospital.

The accident occurred at an intersection on Good Hope Road. The bus was stopped at the intersection when it was rear-ended by a car whose driver thought the bus was going to move through the intersection on the yellow light.

There was minor damage to the bus. One student was transported to with minor injuries. All other students on the bus arrived at school about 20 minutes late.

High school Principal Dr. Gary Kiltz met with students to check their physical and emotional wellbeing. Students were in good spirits and chalked the accident up to inattentive driving by the person in the car.

Parents of the students on the bus are being notified directly by the district.

The district is cooperating with police and the bus company on the accident investigation.
