Man Sexually Assaulted Stepdaughter in Menomonee Falls, Complaint Says

A 35-year-old Germantown man is accused of sexually abusing his stepdaughter in the early 2000s.

A 35-year-old Germantown man is accused of sexually assaulting his stepdaughter while living at home in Menomonee Falls between August 2001 and August 2003, according to a criminal complaint.

Patch is not naming the man to protect the identity of the alleged victim, who is now an adult. The man was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child on Tuesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. If convicted, the man faces up to 40 years in prison.

The young woman told investigators that when she was about eight or nine years old, her stepfather would touch her inappropriately and expose himself to her, the complaint states.

The man told the girl to not tell about the assaults or he would go to jail, she wouldn’t have a father and her mother wouldn’t have a husband. The young girl, who told investigators she felt ashamed and guilty over the assaults, kept silent out of the fear of ruining her family, according to the complaint.

The young woman came forward after telling her close friends and boyfriend about the assaults. The young woman was concerned about her stepsisters who were still in contact with the man, although the woman had not seen him since her mother and stepfather divorced years ago.
