Man Drinks Beer, Shows Off New Mustang, Then Crashes into Parked Car

Falls man got his 2012 Mustang up to 70 miles per hour before hitting a parked car on Elm Lane.

A Menomonee Falls man is facing charges after he allegedly drunk seven to 10 beers and then crashed his 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 into another car while trying to show it off to one of his friends.

According to the criminal complaint, Perry Palm, 35, was drinking with a friend at a cookout Sunday in the S8200 block of Elm Lane when they decided to go for a drive in his Mustang. Palm took the car up to 70 miles per hour, slid through a curb and hit a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing the driver’s side door and several wheels and tires to come off the Mustang.

The passenger in the car had to be taken to after suffering a compound fracture in his right arm.

Palm is charged with one count of first offense operating while intoxicated and causing injury and one count of reckless driving and causing injury. If convicted, he faces up to two years in Waukesha County Jail and $2,000 in fines.

Let's see, how do we prevent these sort of incidents? I know, ignition interlock with alcohol detection device. They already exist, why aren't they mandatory on all vehicles? We have a bazillion balloons (we don't need), all they do is inflate (hee hee) the price but they don't mandate interlocks for alcohol. What a messed up society. Airbags should be an option. I'll bet if they were, half the people wouldn't buy them. I know I wouldn't. How many lives would ignition interlock save? In addition, the saved lives would be the innocent lives taken by the intoxicated driver. Often, the intoxicated party walks away. Want to put more money into the pocket of consumers, eliminate airbags and car prices should drop between $1500 to possibly $5000 or better. Some of these cars have in the neighborhood of a dozen airbags!!

Most fast, well handling, best selling pony car for 56 years roughly, do suck; a lot of gas that is. But the new Mustang actually gets darn good gas mileage even with the 5.0. My cuz'n has one; one awesome ride! An SVT Cobra would be really nice!, especially a convertible, or a Rousch version.

How do you prove the vehilce is on a state or federally owned road? Where do you take it and who pays when it malfunctions? Do you see the aftermarket lockpick business that would pop up overnight?

I added a picture, I don't know the 'rules' when it comes to posting pics, but there it is. I'm glad he was arrested. There are a lot of children running around on that street, and he should know since he lives on it.

There is no picture posted, none that I can see.

Sorry Tracey, I found it! Duhhh; I thought it would be attached to the copy. Ya learn something everyday. I saw a Stang just like this one the other day, where I live. Personally, I thought it was pretty ugly. I'll take a Blue and White Shelby instead.

I don't see several missing wheels, but the driver's door is missing along with his brain!

Perry's a good kid ; he just made a foolish mistake. I think someone should step up to the plate and : DONATE FREE LEGAL SERVICES !

At 35 he is no Kid- Time to grow up...

Step up to the plate and donate Free Legal Services? How about Free Meetings to address the issue that caused the problem instead. Free Legal Services would just be enabling the issue to go on longer.

He can attend the meetings while serving time for his mistakes. Wonder if he had insurance...
