Cops Catch Alleged Best Buy Thief

Milwaukee man admits to stealing Samsung tablets from Menomonee Falls store after getaway car is traced to a woman's home.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of stealing $1,300 in computer tablets from a Menomonee Falls store.

Brandon M. Hutchins was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of felony retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

At 11:27 a.m. Dec. 5, Menomonee Falls police officers were called to Best Buy after an employee spotted Hutchins concealing $1,305 worth of Samsung tablets then walking out the store without paying. An anonymous witness saw Hutchins leave the store in a car registered to a Milwaukee woman.

Falls police officers and Milwaukee police officers went to the woman’s home located in the 4200 block of North 46th Street, where Hutchins admitted to taking the items from the store.

He’s currently free on a $1,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
