Man Stabs Himself With Car Keys During Traffic Stop

Guests at a local hotel also received a rude awakening over the weekend.

A 20-year-old Mequon man seemingly took punishment for his misconduct into his own hands Saturday during a traffic stop.

The man was pulled over by police for speeding near Pilgrim Road and Main Street. While conducting the stop, the man began stabbing himself in the neck with his car keys causing injury to himself. The man resisted officers as they attempted to restrain him for his own safety.

The man had a blood-alcohol level of 0.27 at the hospital, and was transported to the Froedtert Intensive Care Unit to receive medical treatment.

An Premature Wake-up Call

Guests at the Radisson Hotel received a premature wake-up call Sunday morning.

At 2:41 a.m. Menomonee Falls police officers and firefighters responded to the hotel for a fire alarm with smoke reported. The hotel guests were all evacuated prior to police arrival, and the alarm was sounding.

Upon further investigation, the smoke was determined to be the contents of a discharged fire extinguisher. The person responsible was an intoxicated 27-year-old New Berlin man. He admitted to discharging the extinguisher, and was cited for disorderly conduct.

Probably best not to advertise that someone leaves their cardoors unlocked on a particular (rather short) street... you could be liable for the next time it happens.

I see this one coming...get pulled over for OWI and begin stabbing yourself in the neck with your car keys. Defense = Not guilty by reason of mental defect!

The Menomonee Falls Police Department always urges people to keep their car doors locked and valuables out of plain sight. I'm not intending to advertise this. Furthermore, I don't think many criminals are avid Patch readers. It's an assumption, but I think a good one.
