If Red Bull Gives You Wings, An Alleged Thief Could Fly to London

A a man, suspected in 13 similar incidents of theft at Pick 'n Saves around the area, was caught attempting to steal copious amounts of Red Bull from both locations in Falls.

If Red Bull gives you wings, then this suspected thief was looking for enough to fuel a trans-Atlantic flight.

On Oct. 10, a manager observed some suspicious behavior amidst the fruits and vegetables in the produce section of Pick 'n Save on County Line Road. The manager discovered a cart filled with cartons of Red Bull. The manager collected the cart, which scared a man and two women from the store.

However, surveillance tapes revealed the trio had already stolen 25 cases of Red Bull and two packs of Dasani water prior to loading up again. A manager estimated the man stole roughly $174 worth of the energy drink. Store security personnel were able to identify the man, a 47-year-old, who they know has been involved in at least 13 other similar incidents at Pick 'n Saves throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

Eight days later, the same man was again caught attempting to steal 25 cases of Red Bull, but at the Super Pick 'n Save on Appleton Avenue. This time, an employee stopped the man outside the store; however, the man said the Red Bull wasn’t his fled the scene.

Police are continuing to follow up on the case to bring the suspect into custody.

  • A 36-year-old Menomonee Falls man was charged with his fifth-offense OWI after police pulled him over at 8:22 a.m. Saturday. He showed all the signs of intoxication, and failed a breath test. He is currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail on $5,000 cash bond.
  • A woman reported that her husband violated the “No Contact” clause in their custodial agreement Saturday on Apple Tree Court. The man allegedly threw a diaper bag at the woman, handed a child to her, and began swearing in front of the children. The case is being referred to Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel’s office.
  • Between 5 p.m. Oct. 19 and 10:33 a.m. Oct. 20, a person stole a television from an unlocked vehicle on the W15000 block of Cleveland Avenue.
