UPDATE: Husband of Slain Officer Charged with 1st-Degree Homicide

Formal charges have been filed against Benjamin Sebena of Menomonee Falls expected in the Christmas Eve murder of his wife, a Wauwatosa police officer.

Benjamin Sebena, the husband of slain police officer Jennifer Sebena, was charged Thursday afternoon in a brazen Christmas Eve morning attack as she was on patrol.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney charged Benjamin Sebena with first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting death of his 30-year-old wife, who was struck by multiple gunshots early Monday morning in the parking lot of the Wauwatosa Fire Station.

The couple lived on Ranch Road in Menomonee Falls.

Sebena was taken into custody some time Christmas Day and was transferred that night to the West Allis Police Department after questioning. Today's TMJ4 cites unnamed sources in reporting that Ben Sebena confessed to authorities that he killed his wife.

Jennifer Sebena's funeral will be Saturday at Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Rd., Brookfield. Visitation at the church will be from 9 a.m. to noon, with the service immediately following.

Interment will then be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield. All agencies participating in the squad procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park will assemble at Elmbrook Church by noon.

Must be new to Patch, D.

Not at all....All the "Patch" part time editors listen and translate their late, simplified version of the big media news to this rural opportunity. (I can do that for free.) I personally would like to see our editor for Sussex Patch come down, from Slinger, hold office hours like Andy did, and seek out new happenings in Sussex....as simple as they may be. Let the big media handle the big/Obvious news. They are on top of it....We don't need 1-2 day old updates.

If you are referring to Carl, he lives in the Falls, and in the past has had office hours. I'd hazard a guess that his job is more full-time than you think, considering he's also editor for Falls. Perhaps though, here in the Falls we are more newsworthy than Sussucks. D.

JSonline had very little info on this story and only said there was a person of interest. Someone posted a comment on the JS story saying Tosa Patch was reporting he was in custody. So I got way more info from Patch and believe they did a good job. Shortly after the JS comments were deleted so I never would have known the more detailed story if I had not have looked at the comments that fast. The story did get posted on the Falls Patch shortly after. This story was on news outlets all over the country, why would they not be included in Sussex? The guy lived only a few miles from there.

I was really listening with WTMJ am-radio, and watching 620wtmj.com (news),.....they were always ahead of the Patch - Fact. I'm sorry...I'm still assuming that the JS is affiliated with WTMJ. Although any paper is naturally delayed.
