Hospice Care Worker, Mother Accused of Stealing Widow's Credit Cards

Milwaukee mother and daughter are accused of going shopping with Menomonee Falls woman's credit and debit cards.

A Milwaukee mother and her daughter are accused of stealing the debit and credit cards of a Menomonee Falls widow in 2012 to make several transactions, including the purchase of a video game system.

Michelle Wilson, 54, and Shacollier Wilson, 33, were both charged Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with misappropriating identity information to obtain money – as a party to a crime. They both faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted of the felony.

A Menomonee Falls woman told police her debit and credit card had been stolen, which she discovered after her husband passed away in June 2012. The woman suspected that a caregiver hired from Celestial Care Company to provide in-home hospice care had stolen the cards, according to the complaint.

Shacollier Wilson was one of the caregivers who assisted the man between April 2012 and June 2012. Five transactions on the credit and debit cards made online listed to Shacollier’s phone number and the email and shipping address was listed to Michelle, according to the criminal complaint.

Other purchases included a video game system from Walmart and a WE Energies bill. Shacollier and Michelle were both spotted on video making the purchase at Walmart, the complaint states.

When police searched Michelle’s home, Michelle denied being involved in the identity theft. However, items purchased with the debit and credit cards were located inside her home, as well as a sheet of paper with victims name and credit card numbers, according to the criminal complaint.

Michelle tried to blame her daughter for the identity theft charge, according to the complaint, telling police her daughter was “dead to her.”
