Fragment from the World Trade Center Passes Through Menomonee Falls

Menomonee Falls police and fire fighters held a ceremony on Pilgrim Road to salute the piece, and honor those who lost their lives on 9-11.

Menomonee Falls police and fire fighters held a brief but moving ceremony Sunday morning to pay tribute to rescue workers that lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

A truck carrying 3,500-pound steel fragment from the World Trade Center was escorted by two Milwaukee Fire Department vehicles as it made its way up from Milwaukee to the Wisconsin Fire Fighters Memorial in the Wisconsin Rapids.

As the caravan made its way under the Pilgrim Road bridge, fire fighters and police officers saluted as it passed by.
