Flag Flies at Half-Staff in Honor of Fallen Officer from Falls
As it continues to look for leads in the case in the death of officer Jennifer Sebena, Wauwatosa police say entire department is "shaken" by her loss.
As authorities continue to pursue leads in the fatal Christmas Eve shooting of officer Jennifer Sebena, a Wauwatosa police officer who lived in Menomonee Falls, the department said Tuesday the flag in front of the police station will fly at half-staff in her honor.
"Our entire Wauwatosa Police Department family has been shaken by the loss of Officer Jen Sebena," said a statement released Tuesday afternoon by the department. "This is the first time in the 96-year history of our organization that we have lost an officer on-duty. Our flag in front of our department flies at half-staff in honor of our fallen officer."
The 30-year-old officer's body was found early Monday morning. Dispatchers tried and were unable to reach her between 3 and 5 a.m., and a fellow officer found her dead about 5 a.m. Sebena, who was on patrol alone, had been shot multiple times.

No arrests have been made and there is no word on whether there are any suspects in the shooting.
The Wauwatosa Police Department said Tuesday it was working with the state Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation on the case and the two agencies "are currently pursuing multiple investigative leads."

The department also is asking the public for help on the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wauwatosa Police Department at (414) 771- 8672.
Sebena and her husband, Benjamin, lived on Ranch Road in Menomonee Falls.
A neighbor told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the Sebenas were a quiet couple who moved in to the neighborhood about four years ago. They didn't have children, but had a small bulldog.
"They kept to themselves," said Dick McCarthy, who occasionally saw Benjamin Sebena working in his yard, told the newspaper. "All I know is he was an ex-Marine, on disability."
McCarthy told the Journal Sentinel he saw police officers coming and going from the Sebena home Monday, but did not see Benjamin Sebena.
The Menonomee Falls Police Department said it was not involved in the investigation into her death.
