Firefighters Extinguish Blaze on Oakwood Drive

Fire is said to have started in the attic at approximately 5:50 p.m.

The Menomonee Falls Fire Department extinguished a house fire at the end of the narrow confines of Oakwood Drive Thursday evening.

The MFFD received the call at 5:53 p.m. and the first engine on the scene set up operations near the home at the end of a long gravel driveway leading up to the home. Initial reports indicate that the fire began in the attic, and smoke was visible through the wooded property in front of the home.

It didn't appear that anyone was injured, and the homeowners were away on vacation, according to radio communication on the scene. Menomonee Falls Patch was unable to get a clear visual of the home.
