Falls Suspends Burning Ban

After more than a month, Falls residents can once again enjoy a summertime campfire.

Campfire lovers rejoice – the burning ban has been lifted in Menomonee Falls.

Since June 14, drought conditions have forced Menomonee Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey to implement a burning ban throughout the village. However, rainfall over the past week has soaked the ground enough to allow fires to burn once again.

Falls lifted its ban just one day after the U.S. Department of Agriculture deemed 23 counties in Wisconsin as disaster areas. Waukesha County was included as part of the declaration.
