Man With Thieving Problem Also Has Crack Problem, Police Say

A Milwaukee man was arrested for repeatedly stealing baby formula from a local Menomonee Falls Pick'n Save.

A Milwaukee man faces multiple theft charges after baby formula, razor blades, and liquor on multiple occasions from the Pick’n Save on County Line Road.

Shawn Overton, 35, is charged with four counts of misdemeanor retail theft, and faces stiffer penalties since he is a repeat offender. He was convicted of burglary in August 2010, and each charge carries maximum of two years imprisonment.

Overton began a string of thefts from Pick’n Save on Dec. 11 and stole nearly $1,000 in merchandise from. Here’s a look at what the report indicates was stolen over a short period of time:

  • 5 p.m., Dec. 11: 15 cans of Gerber baby formula worth $232
  • 5:30 p.m., Dec. 11: 11 cans of Gerber baby formula worth $175, a companion stole two sets of razor blades worth $32
  • 8:29 a.m., Dec. 12: 25 cans of Gerber baby formula worth $387
  • 12:05 p.m., Dec. 14: Two bottles of vodka worth $58

Overton was arrested on Dec. 23 in Bay View after he was caught stealing from a Pick’n Save in that Milwaukee neighborhood. During an interview with Falls police, he admitted to stealing from Pick’n Save on those days.

Overton said his friend Reggie was with him during the thefts. Overton also admitted to having a crack cocaine drug problem.
