Falls Man Pulls Sword on His Mother Because He Thought She was The Devil

Suspect charged after holding a four-hour standoff with police on Aug. 8.

A Menomonee Falls man is facing charges after he allegedly grabbed a sword and refused to come out of his house because he was concerned his mom might be the devil.

According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 8 Aric R. Orwal, 28, was plugging in electronic devices inside a home in the N7200 block of Lilly Road because he had been hearing voices before his mom came home from work. When she confronted him, he told her to get out and then stated “I don’t know who you are anymore, you’re the devil.”

Orwal then picked up a sword and told his mom things were “going to get really bad” if she didn’t tell him the truth. She then left the residence and called police.

After police arrived they tried to enter the house, but then noticed Orwal standing near the kitchen window with what appeared to be a rifle. The officer then demanded Orwal to drop the weapon and leave the residence, but Orwal refused to identify himself and would only ask who had been standing in his window.

After nearly , Orwal finally agreed to leave the residence, where officers found a BB gun and pellet gun.

Orwal is charged with one count of failure to comply with an officer’s attempt to take a person into custody. If convicted, he faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
