Falls Man Pawns His Mother's Wedding and Engagement Rings

It was a tough month of May for the 23-year-old man who is also facing a felony charge for narcotics possession.

A 23-year-old Menomonee Falls man was cited for theft after he pawned off his mother’s wedding and engagement ring, and other jewelry.

A property reporting check by the Menomonee Falls Police Department revealed several suspicious jewelry transactions by the man. Police conducted a follow-up investigation, and the man’s mother confirmed that her son had stolen the jewelry.

The total value of the jewelry stolen was $5,000.

Police took the man into custody at 6:40 p.m. May 25 at his residence on the W16000 block of Robinhood Drive. The man admitted to the thefts, as well as a false swearing at Nordstrom Jewelers. The man received a citation for theft from the MFPD.

All of the jewelry was already melted down with the exception of two center stones. Police were able to recover those two stones and place them in inventory. Both the father and mother wish to prosecute.

It was a difficult month of May for the 23-year-old man. He is facing charges with the Waukesha County Circuit for one felony count of narcotics possession, one count of cocaine possession and one count of possessing drug paraphernalia. He was charged May 13.

He was released May 16 on a $2,000 signature bond. The man has a preliminary hearing for the charges June 23.
