On Dec. 22, Oconomowoc police officers were called to the hotel after Kennard broke lights in the hallway, broke glass in a picture frame, and then set off a fire extinguisher. When officers arrived, they were directed to Kennard by a security guard. After putting him in handcuffs and leading him outside, Kennard tried to grab the officer’s keys, then lunged at the officer, yelling “kill me,” and “come on.”

Backup was called and officers were eventually able to get him in the back of a squad car.

Two people were with Kennard and they said he had been up for 48 hours plowing snow and they had come to the hotel for karaoke and drinks. They said at one point Kennard went into the courtyard of the hotel and then became upset for an unknown reason.

Kennard will make his initial appearance in court Jan. 21.
